Facilities Manager

SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Engineering, will plan, organize and supervise all functions of facilities, including the areas of safety, maintenance, grounds, custodial, painting and repairs, equipment, energy conservation, pest management, long-term facility planning, oversight of facility capital projects. Perform other related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintenance and operations of the physical plant and grounds to include custodial, maintenance, grounds, transportation, facility operations and repair projects. Maintain the grounds in pristine conditions, setting a well-maintained, professional, inviting environment, lawn / tree care, flower bed maintenance / snow removal / pest management contracts, exterior painting or improvements Reading, interpreting and assisting in the preparation of plans, specifications and other bid documents for facility and grounds maintenance. Communicate matters involving personnel and facilities and grounds in a current and timely manner with plant leadership Supervises, directs, schedules, assigns, and evaluates the daily work of assigned staff; trains employees in work procedures (SOP's), standards and safety practices Oversight of budget development and control of custodial and grounds, supplies and equipment including service contracts for all equipment including replacement planning. This includes, leased, rented and company-owned equipment. Responsible for parking lot (Pavement / concrete) maintenance and repairs. Ensures all documentation of building and grounds services are up to date and orderly Maintain the master plans and prints of the campus pertaining to roadways, pathways, parking lots, and utilities, including electrical, gas, water, telephones, and service lines. Assure compliance with established safety regulations and precautions by all facilities and grounds staff; provide for effective orientation and continuing training to minimize accidents and injuries. Develop departmental policies and procedures to insure a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation. Use an effective work order system, to include response and coordination of maintenance requests and needs. Create and implement environmentally sustainable policies and procedures for all Facilities and Grounds staff. Exercises sound independent judgment within general policy guidelines. Perform other related assignments given by the Director of Facilities EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A Bachelor's degree with experience in Facilities Management, or a related field that would be necessary to professionally maintain the facility and grounds of a large campus. Equivalent work experience (5 years) in facility / grounds and operations may be substituted for the degree requirement. Mechanically inclined, understand requirements HVAC, utilities, pest control to support manufacture of pharmaceutical products Must have a working knowledge of construction projects and supply chain management techniques/negotiation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Experience in an aseptic or pharmaceutical environment preferred. Professional and amiable disposition and communication style needed. Excellent follow through skills required. Presentation skills a plus. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures for buildings and grounds as well as any related systems. Excellent supervisory skills and ability to manage teams Knowledge of safety pertaining to grounds maintenance and plant services Basic computer skills and familiarity with work order systems Strong ability to communicate effectively Proven ability to train others Knowledge of general OSHA requirements Valid driver's license WORKING CONDITIONS Duties require squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, balancing, climbing ladders / stairs, and fine motor control Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and push/pull 100 pounds Frequent exposure to loud noises, slippery and/or uneven surfaces, working at heights, and adverse weather conditions Occasional exposure to fumes, paint, airborne particles, caustic chemical, and vibration.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Plant & Facilities ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
